ABC of Salvation

Image
"If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved" (Romans 10:9-10, NIV).

Salvation is as simple as ABC—so simple, in fact, that many miss it. Religion often complicates the gospel, but we must keep it simple and true.

A – Accept the Gospel
The first step is to accept the gospel. Acknowledge with a thankful heart that Jesus was manifested to take away your sins, and in Him, there is no sin (1 John 3:5).

Why is there no sin in Him? Because He "put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself" (Hebrews 9:26). The word often translated as "forgiveness" in the Bible is the Greek word "aphesis," which actually means remission. That’s what Jesus did for you—He didn’t just forgive your sins; He completely removed them.

If your sins have been remitted and put away, you now have a clean slate with God. There’s nothing left to forgive! (Hebrews 10:17-18). Accept this truth! Don’t approach God saying you’re a sinner or asking for forgiveness; come to Him with thanksgiving, knowing that Jesus has already washed your sins away with His own blood (Revelation 1:5).

B – Believe in the Resurrection
Next, believe that God raised Jesus from the dead for your justification and eternal life (Romans 4:24). The Bible says, "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins" (1 Corinthians 15:17). But thanks be to God, He was raised for your justification! Believe it!

Believing is a choice. It means being fully persuaded in your heart and responding to that conviction. It is with the heart that you believe.

C – Confess His Lordship
Finally, make your confession. This is not the confession of your sins, but the confession of the Lordship of Jesus over your life. Declaring Jesus as Lord moves you from the dominion of darkness into the light, and from the power of Satan to the power of God. It’s a miracle of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3). Do it now!

Once you've taken these steps, rejoice in faith before the Father, thanking Him that you are born again and now a child of God.

Prayer of Salvation
"Dear God in heaven, I thank You for the sacrifice of Christ on my behalf. My sins have been washed away by His blood. Thank You for raising Him from the dead for my justification. Right now, I affirm that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life, and in His name, I receive eternal life into my spirit. Thank You, Father, for saving me! I'm born again. Amen!"
